Winter Sunrise
The snow and wind paused just long enough to grant us a couple days of sunshine. Sunday arived in a most glorious manner. Let us share with you a winter sunrise as it comes to the pasture and makes its way into the mountains.

Farewell Summer
When Summer gathers up her robes of glory,
And like a dream of beauty glides away.

Lambing at Sunrise
(Traveling back in time to May 5th) Sometimes it seems that things happen for a reason. Had Meara not pushed out a water bag at 12:15 a.m.; had she pushed out that first lamb earlier than 5:30 a.m.; this beautiful, foggy sunrise would not have been witnessed from the pasture.
The sky looked pretty clear to the north, but the fog began to come up the hollow from Wolf Creek, enveloping the pasture and continuing to roll across the hayfield. Light filled the sky and the air was filled with a lovely, rosey pink glow. The misty fog remained, clinging to the ground... the color in the sky intensified and the sun rose high enough to be seen above the fog... a bright golden globe... SUNRISE!

solstice to solstice :: rise
Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I'll rise.

Saturday's Sunrise
From 6:58 a.m. to 7:36 a.m., we experienced a most glorious sunrise... each moment more beautiful than the last. In thirty-eight minutes our mountain top went from darkness into light. An everyday miracle. A reminder to hold on to that which is beautiful in each and every day.
Many thanks to all of you for the thoughts, prayers and love you have sent our way.
We are so grateful.

Following the Freezing Fog
from the soft pink reflections of dawn to the first light of sunrise striking the mountains
and the graceful birch tree branches
from the tops of the hard rime frosted mountains to the soft rime covered teasel in the old barnyard
from the tree tops in the brilliant blue sky to every tall blade of grass and small seed head
We were blessed with a Sunday that was a spectacular, sun-filled, sparkling winter wonderland.
It was just what we needed to renew our spirits.
