  3. Great shot! If you have time, will you explain why you shear now with winter on its way?

    1. We shear just the lambs in the fall, as their fleeces are finer, tend to mat and are ruined if left until spring shearing. Their wool starts to grow very quickly and they are well protected during the winter. We have friends that shear their whole flock twice a year because they like the shorter length on their fleeces.

  5. This year i shared two times, because my elder sheep would have too much felt-wool till May, This way they will feel better. I test this the first time. We cut claws now two or threee or even four times a year.

  6. Love the photo...I'm seeing so many sheep while on holiday in Scotland....many times, the car must stop while they cross the road.

  7. Thank you! (I know you wouldn't expose your flock to the cold, but couldn't help picturing shivering, naked sheep!)
